Home right now is a compound about the size of a small city block
called Qalaa House. Across the street is a larger post known
as Camp Eggers. Eggers has limited facilities, such as a small PX
and barber shop. I took a trip up a mountain that divides Kabul
in two called TV Hill. We wanted to see if we can use it for
comms. What a view! Thursday, there is a small bazaar at Qalaa
House and Friday is a larger one at Eggers. The one at Qalaa has
some nice, hand-made wooden chests, which are featured below. Eggers
has a larger variety of goods, but of interest to my son and oldest
son-in-law are the antique British colonial rifles and pistols. Coming
soon - July 4th and the Change of Command.
